Eric's having to do a LOT of reading for his grad school classes, which means I have to find some way to enertain myself. I can only watch TV and blog stalk for so long. :) Reading would take up time and I LOVE to read, but I need some book recommendations. What have you read recently (or not so recently) that you really enjoyed?
Let me know if you get any good suggestions, I am also in need of a good read!
ReplyDeleteThe Twilight series if you haven't already hit that up!
ReplyDeleteOr any books by good ole Nicholas Sparks always float my boat.
I have also gotten into some christian fiction books by Tracey Bateman called "The Drama Queen series". They are like some clean romantic comedy type books.
Essential Interviewing is a good one. Becoming a helper will pass the time and The skilled helper will take up a lot of your time. Just thought I would help!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Sarah on the Twilight series. We've got all 4 books if you'd like to borrow them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Three Cups of Tea is great and so is The Lady in the Tower. Those are some of my recent reads that I'd recommend and I know a ton more if I get up and go look on my bookshelves. But - I'm too lazy for that. :) You are welcome to borrow either of the two listed above, or anything else you can find over here.
The Shopaholic series is cute, breezy, and easy to read. The author's name is Sophie Kinsella. I've got the whole series loaned out right now, but you are welcome to those, too, once I get them back.
So...yeah. I love to read, too, and I'm borrowing Sarah's Drama Queen series at the moment. It is such a busy time, though, that I haven't cracked them open yet. Hopefully soon. :)
I've been wanting to read the twilight serious also, I've heard good things! I think John Grisham has a new one out if you like him (The Associate) and John Grogan is the author who wrote Marley & Me, I've been wanting to read his other one, The Longest Trip Home. Let us know what you choose!!
ReplyDeleteThe Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. They're some of the best books I've ever read.
ReplyDeleteI also like the Girls in Pants series if you want some mindless, easy reading for a day or two.
I recommend "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers or her "Mark of the Lion" series. They are amazing. They are all I guess you would say Christian romance, especially the "Redeeming Love". I don't know if that's your thing, but it should be, they are great!
ReplyDeleteSo your blog inspired me to read too- so I took my own advice and read John Grisham's The Associate. The ending was a let down. You're probably better off with some of the other suggestions!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for all of the suggestions! I looked at the public library as well as the church library for many of the books. They must be good because I had a hard time tracking down most of them!
